Madden NFL 21 Trophy Guide and Roadmap (PS5)

Updated: Nov 4, 2021

General Tips

· Play on Rookie difficulty

· If you have a second controller, you should use it for all play now single game accomplishment trophies.

· Play with 15 minute quarters if you are really struggling with any single game trophies as this will allow you plenty of time to achieve one of the trophies.

· For Single Game Accomplishments, you cannot use Supersim as this will negate the trophy. You can use Supersim for the Face Of The Franchise Trophies.

· You can edit rosters and make the team you would like to use have players all with 99 overalls

For Face Of The Franchise you should keep in mind the following. In order to earn the maximum amount of legacy points you want to:

· Always win each game,

· Complete your game goal

· Complete any rise to fame objectives that appear.

· If you think you're going to fail to complete one of these goals, you always have the option to quit mid-game and restart the game over.

Madden NFL 21 Master

Congratulations on earning every Madden NFL 21 trophy!

Primetime

Gain over 50 total yards while using Celebration Loco over the course of a single game.

Bronze

For this trophy, you need to celebrate with the ball in your hands for 50 yards with one player on one team. To use Celebration Loco, you must hold L2 while controlling the player with the ball. The easiest way to do this is with two controllers. Have the defense pick the play field goal block and have everyone go long on your offense, then quickly pass it to them. Once you make the catch you should have plenty of open field to use Celebration Loco and gain the yards.

If you don’t have two controllers, you should play with fifteen minute quarters and celebrate whenever you have some room to. The best way to do so is to select the play Hail Mary and run with the quarterback while playing on rookie difficulty. Using someone like Patrick Mahomes or Lamar Jackson will make this easier.

Unblockable

On 3 plays create a sack or tackle for loss after a pass rush move win, using a different rush move each time.

Bronze

BUGGY

You need to successfully use 3 different pass rusher moves using a Defensive Lineman and make the opponent lose yards after doing so.

First, what you need to know is that there are 5 pass rush moves this year:

Speed Rush - Which is performed by holding R2 and pressing Right Stick: Left or Right Stick: Right

Bull Rush - Which is performed by holding Right Stick: Down.

Club Move - Which is performed by flicking Right Stick: Left or Right Stick: Right.

Rip Move - Which is performed by flicking Right Stick: Up, and using L3 in any direction.

Spin Move - Which is performed by turning R3 either clockwise or counterclockwise.

Now you will need to start a game and perform 3 of the above moves for either a sack or tackle for a loss with the same player. Play on rookie difficulty and with two controllers (if possible), using Aaron Donald of the Rams. Now have the QB stand there and wait to be sacked while you play prevent defense, as this will give you more time to pressure the quarterback. Since the quarterback won't be moving, you will have plenty of chances to get the sack. Just make sure to use a different move each time. If you don't have a second controller, playing with 15 minute quarters is highly recommended as it is likely going to take some time to get this naturally.

This trophy usually takes more than 3 successful pass rush moves, so try to do all five to maximize your chances to get it to pop. Remember, you can't use Supersim, so you should punt the ball immediately when on offense if this is the only trophy you are going for.

Throwin’ Dots

Throw a Passing TD using the low throw mechanic.

Bronze

BUGGY

You need to throw a touchdown with your Quarterback to one of your receivers using the Low Throw Mechanic feature.

To make this easier you should play on Rookie difficulty. Once you are on offense, you will want to drive down the field until you are near the endzone. Now choose a play where all your receivers run into the endzone. Once they reach the endzone, hold L2 plus the button of the receiver that is open.

So for example, in the video below, Michael Gallup is the Circle button, so L2 and Circle are pressed at the same time. Some people are having issues with this trophy, so to ensure you get it, make sure the receiver is already in the endzone and you are not moving with the quarterback when you make the throw. Underneath your quarterback, it should say Low Pass after making the throw.

Lockdown Corner

Win 3 presses in a single game with the same CB.

Bronze

For this trophy, you need to win 3 press coverages using the same Cornerback while on defense.

There are 3 ways of doing a press as a defender:

X + Left Stick: Left

X +Left Stick: Right

X + Left Stick: Down.

Those will be the 3 ways of pressing. Now, when on defense, select a man defensive coverage such as Cover 2 Man, then during the pre-play (before the ball is snapped), press Triangle and Left Stick: Down to set up your cornerback to press cover his assignment. Once the ball is snapped, quickly try pressing your assignment by using one of the three combinations above. If successful, you will make the receiver adjust his route from where he wanted to go. You must do this with the same cornerback 3 times in one game.

The easiest way to do this is with two controllers. That way, you will have plenty of time to set up on defense. It can sometimes be difficult to tell when you win a press, and just because you tried pressing doesn't mean it was successful.

Situational Awareness

Make a Coaching Adjustment in the 4th quarter or OT.

Silver

You need to make a coaching adjustment at some point during the 4th quarter or overtime of a game. What you need to do is get to the 4th quarter in any game by playing normally and without using Supersim. Once the quarter starts, press R3 when you are in the playbook. This will bring up all the possible coaching adjustments. Now change any of the settings with the Left or Right directional button and run the next play, and the trophy will pop.

Comeback City

Comeback and win when trailing by 17+ points at halftime.

Silver

You need to win a game after losing by 17 or more points when the game enters halftime. Start an exhibition game on rookie difficulty, and set the quarter length to 5 minute quarters. You will want to use the road team, and set your coin toss choice to kick. Use a great team such as the Buccaneers or Chiefs against one of the worse teams in the league such as the Jets or Jaguars.

Let your opponent take an 18-point lead going into the half, such as 21-3. Now play the game like you normally would, and comeback and win. If you are having difficulty on rookie difficulty, you can edit the rosters and make the team you would like to use have players all with 99 overalls, and make the opponent have players with 25 overalls.

Move Master

Successfully fake-out a defender with a ball carrier special move.

Bronze

For this trophy, you need to fake-out a defensive player using a juke or spin move while in possession of the ball. The easiest way to do this is by playing on rookie difficulty and starting a game with a team that has an elite running back (Vikings, Titans, Panthers, Saints, Giants).

When playing on rookie, during the course of the game you will see prompts for moves that you can perform. If you can successfully hit one of the animations at the right time, you will do a ball carrier special move. You can also do this on a kick return and use R3 to juke your opponent. See below for an example of a ball carrier special move.

The GOAT

Gain the GOAT Legacy rank in Face of the Franchise

Gold

The storyline for Face of the Franchise mode can vary slightly depending on where you are drafted. For the sake of the guide, we will assume you remained a Quarterback and didn't play the extra year in college at a different position (which will take longer). In order to earn the maximum amount of legacy points, you want to always win each game, complete your game goal, and complete any rise to fame objectives that appear. If you fail to complete one of these goals you always have the option to quit mid-game and restart the game over.

The Final Face of The Franchise trophy requires 30,000 Legacy Points. Now that you are once again injured, your attributes will take a hit. The goal you will receive is to win and have over 325 yards to earn 750 legacy points, then you will be looking to win your third Superbowl.

In Game 1 of the playoffs, you will need to win and have 450 yards or more, which will earn you another 750 legacy points.

For Game 2 of the playoffs, you will need 300+ passing yards and a victory to earn another 1,500 legacy points.

Finally, in the Superbowl, your goal will be to score 5 touchdowns and win. Winning the Superbowl will get you 1,500 legacy points, and if you completed all other goals up to now, this should be enough for the 30,000 legacy points.

If you don’t get to 30,000 here, you still have one season left.

If you choose to "deflect retirement talk" in the press conference, this will net you 200 legacy points.

In the next game, your goal will be to get 12 first downs and a victory, which will get you another 750 legacy points.

The next goal will be to win and pass for over 250 yards for a nice 750 legacy points.

Your final game will once again be in the Superbowl. If you choose the "stay cool" dialogue in the locker room before the game, your goal will be to simply throw 25 or more passes for the game. Winning your 4th Superbowl gives you 10,000 Legacy Points, and this marks the end of your career.

NFL Icon

Gain the NFL Icon Legacy rank in Face of the Franchise

Gold

25,000 Legacy Points are needed to reach the NFL Icon Legacy Rank. Winning the Superbowl will get you a bonus 2,000 Legacy points, which should get you close to, if not over, the 25,000 mark.

Next, you will be in a position battle to remain the starter. Win the first game and get gold on the verticals practice to “remain the starter” and earn 750 legacy points. If you are having difficulty getting gold on the drill, you can pause and restart the drill at any time to get gold.

See Gold The GOAT for more details.

1st Ballot HOF

Gain the 1st Ballot HOF Legacy rank in Face of the Franchise

Gold

20,000 Legacy Points are needed for the 1st Ballot HOF rank. Your next task is to once again beat your division rivals. You will get 750 legacy points for the first win, while the second win will get you 1,500 legacy points. Finally, you will face your rival again in the playoffs. A victory here will gain you another 2,000 Legacy points, which should get you over the 20,000 mark.

See Gold The GOAT for more details.

Future HOF

Gain the Future HOF Legacy rank in Face of the Franchise

Gold

15,000 Legacy Points are needed for the Future HOF Legacy rank. If you have done all of your goals up until this point, you should receive this in your 5th season after beating your rival twice in the regular season.

See Gold The GOAT for more details.

Hall of Very Good

Gain the Hall of Very Good Legacy rank in Face of the Franchise

Gold

10,000 Legacy Points are needed for the Hall of Very Good Legacy rank. After winning the Superbowl, your overall will decrease due to an injury in the third season. If you decide to play the game and win, you will earn 1500 legacy points but miss the rest of the postseason. This is where you will likely hit the 10,000 mark.

See Gold The GOAT for more details.

Team Legend

Gain the Team Legend Legacy rank in Face of the Franchise

7500 Legacy Points are needed to earn the Team Legend Legacy rank. If you win the Superbowl at the end of season 2, you will earn 3,000 Legacy Points, so that is when you will likely earn this.

See Gold The GOAT for more details.

Pro Bowl Caliber

Gain the Pro Bowl Caliber Legacy rank in Face of the Franchise

Silver

5000 Legacy points are needed for the Pro Bowl Caliber Legacy rank. If you achieve all your goals you should receive this before the Superbowl in Season 2.

See Gold The GOAT for more details.

Key Contributor

Gain the Key Contributor Legacy rank in Face of the Franchise

Bronze

The second FOTF mode rank requires 2500 Legacy Points for the Key Contributor rank. You should earn this at the end of the first season or the first preseason game you play of the second season.

See Gold The GOAT for more details.

Role Player

Gain the Role Player rank in Face of the Franchise

Bronze

This is the first rank you can earn in Face of the Franchise Mode, which requires you to earn 500 Legacy Points. Start your face of the franchise, and try to play well in college and the draft combine as this will raise your draft stock. Once drafted, you will play your first preseason game where you will be given a goal such as throw or run for 125 or more yards. If you are able to achieve this goal you should get 504 legacy points, which will be enough for the Role Player rank as you need 500 for this.

See Gold The GOAT for more details.

Already in Progress

Create a league from a Play Now Live game.

Bronze

ONLINE REQUIRED BUGGY

For this trophy, you will need to create a Cloud Franchise after completing a Play Now live game. Start an Exhibition game and choose one of the preselected games from this week’s schedule, and play the game to completion. It doesn’t matter if you win or lose. Now, once the game is over, it will ask you if you want to continue your season. Press yes, play next week, and then press continue to season, and this will bring you to the franchise menu.

This trophy is glitched for many users on the PS5. Below are the steps to get the trophy to pop:

  1. Finish a Play Now live game. Currently, the glitch will create a franchise as this team automatically. The guide writer used the Steelers vs the Bengals as this was the Monday night game as of the guide's publication.

  2. Next, go to Franchise and create a new Franchise. Now scroll over to the Steelers (or whatever team you used in the Play Now live game) and it should say that this team is already taken.

  3. Next, select a team that this team has played against in a prior week. Since this was week 15, choose a team that they played in weeks 1-14. Choose a team such as the Broncos and start in week 2 as this was who they played that week.

  4. Then play the moments of this game, and once you press finish game, spam X after. This should allow you to create a franchise with the Play Now live team, meaning that the trophy will pop.

Change of Scenery

Relocate a team.

Bronze

To relocate a team you must do this in Franchise Mode and have a stadium that is in poor condition. Start a franchise using the Washington Football team and simulate through the first season. After simulating, scroll over to the "My Owner" tab, then go to Stadiums, scroll down to "Relocate", and confirm that you would like to relocate. Simulate a week at a time until it asks you to pick a city in your "Things to Do" tab. Keep simulating a week at a time until it asks you to choose a name. It will then take until the end of the season to build the new stadium and relocate and rebrand.

Roster Reshuffle

Complete a fantasy draft.

Bronze

For this trophy, you need to finish a fantasy draft in franchise mode. Start a franchise, choose "Use Active Roster", and choose either an online or offline franchise. Once the roster imports, choose your team. It doesn’t matter what team you pick.

Now, scroll down to the starting point settings and select Fantasy Draft. Once you have Fantasy Draft selected, scroll up and press Start Playing. In the "Things to Do" section, it will say "Start Fantasy Draft". Press this, and press X to select your player. The draft is 54 rounds, and once you make your final pick, the trophy will be yours.

You can also skip the draft by pressing Skip Ahead in the draft and selecting To End of Draft to save time and still receive the trophy.

Pro Bowler

Participate in the Pro Bowl during a Franchise season.

Bronze

Play the Pro Bowl in Franchise mode, which takes place before the Superbowl. Start a franchise, choose a cloud franchise, use Real Life NFL stats, and select the Chiefs. Start in Week 15 and simulate to the end of the regular season. Now, the Pro Bowl will be in the week before the Superbowl so you will want to lose before the Superbowl to ensure your players will play in the Pro Bowl.

With the real NFL stats, Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce will all make the team. Now simply play the game to completion and the trophy will be yours. You can play 1 minute quarters to speed this up.

Note: This trophy cannot be completed by playing the Pro Bowl in the Exhibition tab. It must be done in Franchise.

Head-to-Head

Win a Head To Head game in an online league.

Bronze

ONLINE REQUIRED MULTIPLAYER ONLY

For this, you need to win a head-to-head game against another player in a Cloud franchise. Start a Cloud franchise and invite your friend by going to where it says "Members", and then invite users. Now, play the week 1 matchup by selecting 2 teams that face each other that week, and win. You can play with 1 minute quarters to speed this up. If you don’t have a friend with the game, create a gaming session, or you can join a public league and try to win against another player.

Bragging Rights

Win the Super Bowl in an online league.

Silver

ONLINE REQUIRED

This trophy requires you to win the Superbowl in a Cloud-connected Franchise. Although it says that you need to play in an online league, you can actually do this solo. You will need to create a Cloud franchise which will be considered an online league. Now, choose a team that will make the playoffs (such as the Chiefs) and use real NFL stats. Start in Week 16 or 17 as this will ensure they make the playoffs and get a first round Bye.

Now, simulate to the playoffs. To be safe, you should either play or supersim by playing the key moments to ensure that you win each playoff game. Finally, win the superbowl and make sure you play the final drive of the game if you are using supersim. The trophy should pop once you go back to the menu. Put the game on rookie difficulty to ensure the best chance of victory in each playoff game.

Future of the Franchise

Reveal a rookie's X-Factor potential.

Silver

In the NFL Draft, you need to draft a rookie who has an X-factor Trait. Follow the same setup as Bronze Stud Finder, and once you draft the player it will tell you what you need to do to unlock his X-Factor (such as play 500 downs), so you should simulate half the season after setting this player as a starter. Now go to the depth chart and view the player, and his X-Factor should now be unlocked. If not, you can simulate later into the season.

Stud Finder

Draft a rookie with a Hidden Dev Trait.

Bronze

You will need to draft a rookie who has a hidden Dev trait during the offseason of your franchise. Start a franchise with any team and simulate until the Superbowl. Now you will have the ability to scout players in the upcoming draft. Next, edit any player who will be projected a late first rounder or a second rounder, and set his development ability to Superstar X-Factor. Once you draft the player, the trophy will pop. Selecting the Jets using Real Life NFL Stats in Week 15 or later will help ensure you have a top 3 Draft Pick.

Big Spender

Win a free agent bidding war for a 90+ OVR player.

Bronze

You will need to sign a free agent who is a 90 overall or greater in Franchise mode during the offseason. Turn the salary cap off before starting your Franchise, now simulate to the offseason and try to sign any player who is over a 90 overall, which will likely be 1 or 2 players. Offer them the highest salary and signing bonus possible and they will likely sign with you. If you fail to sign these players, you can simulate to the next offseason and try again as there are more 90+ overall players who will likely be free agents.

Dealmaker

Re-sign a 90+ OVR player.

Bronze

You will need to resign a player who is already on your team, and whose contract is expiring that is a 90 Overall or higher. Allen Robinson of the Chicago Bears is a Free Agent after the season, so he is a player you won't need to edit to get the trophy. Start A Franchise using real NFL stats with the Chicago Bears. Turn off the salary cap and start in Week 15, and under the "things to do" tab select players ready to negotiate. Offer Allen Robinson as much money and signing bonus as you can and he should resign.

MVP

Win MVP with one of your players.

Silver

You will need to win the MVP award in Franchise mode. You can do this by being a Team Owner, Coach or Individual Player. Start a Franchise with the Chiefs starting in Week 15 using real NFL Stats, now play the last 3 games of the year on rookie difficulty and put up big numbers with Patrick Mahomes to ensure you win the MVP.

ROTY

Win Rookie of the Year with one of your players.

Gold

You will need to win the Rookie of the Year award in Franchise mode. You can do this by being a Team Owner, Coach or Individual Player. Start a Franchise using the Chargers using real NFL stats in week 15 and simulate to the Superbowl and Justin Herbert should win the ROTY. If he doesn't win the ROTY you can play the last 3 weeks of the season, and put up big numbers with Herbert. Herbert was the real life rookie of the year so using the real NFL Stats gives makes it likely he will win it on here also without having to play.
